The No-Go™ Bench Grinder Safety Gauge with Wire Attachment (Item #: 55284) is a patented, USA-made inspection tool designed to ensure compliance with
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215.
Also known as a grinder safety scale, this tool provides a quick, reliable way to check tool rest and tongue guard gaps before operating a grinder.
The permanent 18″ wire tether secures the gauge to the base of the grinder, ensuring it’s always available and never misplaced.

How It Works
- 1/8” end – verifies the bottom tool rest gap. If the gauge fits, the rest is too far from the wheel and out of OSHA compliance.
- 1/4” end – verifies the top adjustable tongue guard gap. If the gauge fits, the guard is too far and not OSHA compliant.
Both measurements comply with OSHA 1910.215(a)(4), helping facilities maintain compliance and improve grinder safety programs.
